Happy Juneteeth! A day of recognition, restoration, & celebration!

Juneteenth marks a date of major significance in American History and represents the way in which freedom for black people has been delayed. It is a reminder that "nobody is free until everybody is free".

Enslaved people in the state of Texas were unaware of the Emancipation Proclamation signing in 1863. It wasn't until June 19th, 1865 that all black people enslaved in the state of Texas became free when federal troops arrived to take control of the state and ensure all those enslaved were freed.
